Konawaena’s “Water Warrior” mural is the first interactive painting on campus. It was started in September 2016 and was displayed exactly a year later at the entrance to the pool at Konawaena High School.

Konawaena’s “Water Warrior” mural is the first interactive painting on campus. It was started in September 2016 and was displayed exactly a year later at the entrance to the pool at Konawaena High School.

The mural is 8-feet-by-8-feet painted on two pieces of plywood with acrylic paint. Art students from Konawaena High School painted it under the supervision of Mrs. Obregon. What makes the mural interactive is the paintingis not complete until someone stands in the middle, giving the illusion of water wings that flow from the shoulders.

Konawaena teachers, Craig Fuller and Randy Ruiz helped hang the mural, while the construction class at Konawaena made a custom frame for it.
